Yeah thats to funny Ronnie 6 LBS flywheel at 6000rpm in 10 pieces could go right through someone I'm sure the staff at CKA will see the value of your ($19.99 extended 1 year warranty) and how safe that would be for the people standing around the track having fun at the races

This is another area where our friend's from Spokane can provide us some data. A broken flywheel and an engine mounted gas tank could be really ugly.

It wasnt meant in that respect. If the thing breaks it breaks. Certianly wouldnt want to see anybody hit by flying parts. But i think the chances of that are far less than a 300+pound go kart coming thru the hay bails and into the pits. I remember years ago a guy that raced had an old k-78 rotary valve engine. The clutches on the those are mounted inboard. The crank broke that night.....the clutch hit the ceiling bounced once and landed on the bathrooms! Pretty rare but it does happen!

"Whata Happend" to cause the clutch to hit the roof was the guy did some work on his kart between races and didn't get the clutch containment guard back on the kart. Made me a believer in running the correct bearing in the 3rd bearing support. The other lesson there is that most of the pre tech stuff is there for good reason. How good is the information on the flywheel failures in these "Chi-Com Hustlers"? Were they stock engines with only the air filter and exhaust system changed? Was the information from people who have a vested interest in selling Briggs and Straton or ARC? BNSS says stock flywheels in their rules.

all the time i been racing, tracks and clubs were trying to offer the entry level kart/motor combo.......never worked, seems the present racers don't want to step down in class, as in power and prestige...... and never seems to be any entry level excitement..... the entry level class we have is stock animal, thats the class that should be pushed as entry level. if some interest comes about for clones or the LO206, welcome them and three make a class........soooo on the cka club agenda we might consider having clone/206 rules ready for action or have the racers that want to form the class present the set of rules they want to run under.......jamie from jps always had the "show up with three and we will form a class for you "type format........just my thoughts.

I still wish the wazoom took off. It was a good cost vs. price class. I bought one...but then by then the class was on the way out...so it became a killer minibike motor for a while untill i put my reedjet in the minibike...now that was fun!!!!

We didn't take the clone. I really enjoyed running the animal. I personally wouldn't be interested in one because I'd want to play with head porting. Also, given my size KT-100 or open makes more sense. But if you could run one in another class at 320 pounds...

i've been running clones out here in Missouri and its always the biggest class they have. i'll tell you one thing, when you cut down on power then EVERYTHING else has to be perfect if you want to run up front. tires, chassis, weights etc etc. its good racing though and you'd better be prepared to do some bodywork and some tire doping.
