Just a little toasty out here - working on the ol' suntan. The only good thing is I can watch sprint cars Sat. nite and 3 nites next week. More CaCl2 should help hold H2O on the backstretch. It's a bit of a learning curve to get just the right amount of water on track so it will hold bite, not get dusty and not need excessive packing.

yup, if we had that track over here we would be able to give it the care it deserves.

well actully could have been pretty good, an incident in the second heat (i got turned hard in 4 then tee boned at speed by a backmarker ) put me 9th instead of third for the main. so i sucked. but we had a good time tho. just one more trip to spokane and then we are done over there, just way too much travel for us.

Ouch. Everything came out OK I assume. No bent chassis or broken legs or anything like that I hope. I'm hip to the travel thing. Once in awhile is OK (and fun), but all the time is wearing. Hard to keep it fun. August should be killer though, I'm looking forward to it. I will drive in from here and turn around and drive my stuff over to Spokane - not even a night in my own bed. I might need a little help getting ready for Sat. racing, lend me a wrench if I need it?

Yeah, the tangled mess thing was a possibility. Glad to know Curt finally has a friend. I guess he can take the pork chop off now that he doesn't need Hot Rod for friendship. I want to know how you know Duffy is smiling?
Oh, did I tell you that Lucy found a skunk at the hotel in Spokane? Oh the fragrance of summer.....

She lucked out and didn't get a full load. Just enough to figure out that black cats with a white stripe are nothing to mess with. Between the skunk and the mule deer that attacked her on July 4th at the cabin - she's having a tough year chasing wildlife. Sometimes it sucks to be a dog.
Then, there's the story about my boat trailer at Spokane....

Karen came over the last night of Nats with her boat. First thing she says to me is I think I hit something with the trailer (the fender is bent) but I don't know what. She figures a little preemptive strike will lessen the coming storm. So I'm like busy pumping gas and observing the mayhem and I don't look at it 'til I get back to the motel. Turns out the fender is no big deal (someone backed into her) but the wheel bearing on the other side has exploded and the hub is riding on the spindle. So, the worm has turned - Karen didn't hit anything and I screwed up by not checking the bearings and stuff when I bought the boat. Still, this is no big deal I figure, the trailer was built in Spokane and parts are easy to get and for once in my life I've got my tools with me. Well, the trailer has a torsion axle so everything inside of the hubs is a unit. We'll be getting no parts for this deal on a weekend and I had to go to Pocatello on Sunday. To make the suffering short - $735 and 3 days later she's on the road again with a brand new axle. In the meantime, Lucy finds the skunk.....
