Brett Spencer, Steve Borns, Rod Wheeler and Jim Gibson were some of the WA drivers that raced cage karts down there (Rainier, JPS) a few years ago. I sold all my stuff a couple years ago when the kart programs in WA state died off. It will be interesting to see if it picks up again. Salem, Cottage Grove, Roseburg and Medford are still hot spots for these karts.

Jake Waddell was running a Honda CRF450 on his cage kart a couple of years ago - that thing absolutely thundered! There are several running in Northern California from what I have heard. One of the problems is that the CR500 2-stroke is so powerful and durable that it takes some $$$$ to make the 4-cycle as competitive. I know Honda has a single-cylinder 700cc 4-cycle on one of their new quads - I wonder how long before one is fitted to a kart?
The 125cc class (2-stroke) has seen a lot more 4-cycle competition from the Yamaha 250cc 4-cycle engine in the cage karts.

I see this Devin Barnes fellow has raced at Skagit; does anyone have contact info (e-mail) for him? It's good to know someone on the northend of Seattle has an outlaw kart.
