I think we can really improve this club and raise the level of enjoyment we all get out of racing if we start by respecting each other ON the track. For starters lets all remember that practice is just that .....practice. I personally dont believe there is any need to race each other in practice. Give yourself some space and see if you can run down the kart infront of you. IF you do and can pass them easily then go ahead but if not , raise your hand , slow down , open up some space and see if you can run em down again. You can learn what you need to learn about your kart and not touch a soul , it just practice.
In the heats give each other some room. I dont mean give up but if a guy/gal get a run under you coming off of four there is no need to drive em down to the berm going into one and take the chance of wrecking you both . WOuldnt it be better to leave them "just enough" space and try to run them on the outside or "breath" the throttle just enough and try to cross them over so you can have the run under them coming out of two ? THis is racing and ther will be contact to be sure. BUt if you give your fellow competitor some racing respect then when we do make accidental contact there wont be an automatic assumption that it was done on purpose.
In short lets try to race each other like we want to be raced and not going out there to settle some old score. Be the examble and clean the slate , and lets have fun .

some very good points Joe. I find myself getting over anxious sometimes (remember the broken wrist) I think we all have. I will try and do a better job, as I reallly enjoy the people I race with and watching the ones in other class'. Also wanted to say, very good subject title. I need to remember, I have 2 grandchildren who watch me race and I don't want them to pick up any bad manners from me.

Here is my answer. I think we can really improve this club and raise the level of enjoyment we all get out of racing if we start by punishing those who sent nasty emails. Those who call and leave nasty voicemails, but hey why try to start leading by example when you wont even punish those who step out of line.

Lead by example... Did anyone do anything to Chuck when he tried to kick me in the head as I was coming off the track?. How about allowing the flagger to yell at a customer (me) and telling me that my protest of the black flag don't mean anything and yelling that I'm a fat ass in the pits in front of everyone. This is not a good example of anything. I was more worried that Gina was going to ram me in the back. Signed...Concernend about staff conduct.

At the pit meeting wayno give an excuse that Gina is a volunteer.. This is no excuse to run on to the track and kick peoples karts yelling and screaming at them. Why was there no Tech at the last race? Milton is always screaming people are cheating and yet he can't conduct a simple tech at the track.

WOW TD, didn't you say this

Thier is no one on the staff at C.K.A. that has the experience to perform tech. We must only find a non bias outsider to do this task. Otherwise lets move the mods to the open class and we wont have to worry about it. Does that sound good Renee? lol... No tire prep application at the track (ORV)... good god what to do now!!!!? LOL. Will!!. Will!!. Will!. lol

Milton.... Just because you can put a motor together does not mean your experienced....... How much experience do you have Milton?

Milton.."More than needed"... This means your not qualified to do the job.. no one else will trust you either.

Lead by example when Driving On Track Good Sportsmanship: It is the spirit and intent of these rules that all competitors drive exhibiting good sportsmanship; this is, every driver is expected to behave according to principles of fairness, observe all rules, show respect for others, proceed on track without touching or endangering the vehicles of fellow competitors and accept victory or defeat graciously. However, inadvertent, occasional contact between karts on track is a reality of racing.(((( Any penalties assessed by the flagman while karts are on track are not protestable.)))) but, TD you know that !!

TD imo you need to get your facts straight. I did let Chuck know that If he did not want to talk to Dave then i thought he should leave.( the past). You and Gina were getting heated and I was trying to calm things down, which at every oppertunity you would fire back at her, I believe intentionally keeping it going. Also get it right. I never called you any names nor said your protest was s$%&. The black flag was warranted and your protest was declined as per the rules. Also this forum is not a place to bash others or trying to make CKA look bad.

Wayno, I did not say you called me any names.... you said nothing to Gina when she said I was blowing hot air out I disagree. and no one was going to look at my protest! You did set her straight on that I put my protest in writting. but said nothing when she called me a fat ass (yelling this from a distance) so do you won't to say that I'm making the club look bad?.

Milton... look at the video. When a child (14) is flipping off an adult. I would have marched my kid over to chuck to make him apologise wether I liked chuck or not. my kids are a product of who I am and disrespect to an adult is not an option. when Rick T-boned me and bend my axle and brought out the red flag last month you heard nothing from me. (it's racing)

Hi all I think TD has right right to be mad at someone that called him a fat a??? But that doese not make it ok to smash onto someones kart because thay fliped him off. TD is the type of person that likes to get people all ryaldle up and get them going. Unfortiantly we are all human and do responde back to that kinde of stuff. Yes it was wrong for me to call him that, but it is very wrong to bash into someone because you are mad at them on the track. It doese take something to happen for someone to get mad back. So lets look at that fact that the other driver was told by TD to get off the track he was to young to be in this class. Now TD if anybody looks bad it is you. For driving like that. In nascar they would pentilize you and charge you, and also suspend you. So maybe next time if you show up you will have a better attitude and not come to our race with the intension of starting sh???? like you had informed evybody the week before, have fun. What kinde of example are you setting for your new friend that loves karting that flys all the way up from california to come and race. I am sure you are ruining it for him....THANKS THE FLAGGER GINA.....AND ALSO I DID MAKE A GOOD CALL...
Gina... you was doing so well!. Then you made an accusation and a assumption.
NO DAVE I JUST MADE THE RIGHT CALL AND YOU HAPPEN TO GET CAUGHT... YOU HAVE PLAYED YOUR GAME ENOUGH AND YOUR COLORS ARE BLEEDING THROUGH........MAYBE NEXT TIME YOU WILL PLAY YOUR PLAN BETTER....HAVE A GOOD DAY TD AND KEEP YOUR CHIN UP!!!!!!!!!!THERES MORE TO LIFE THAN JUST CKA DRAMA...

Come on guys.
TD ON your protest : IT was heard , we sat down with the rule book and came to a conclusion. IT was heard and considered though , please give us that weather you agree with it or not. Wayne and I and the rest of the staff also have heard your other concerns , and again , we will consider what you are saying and the CKA staff will think of how we can best deal with them. Know this though atleast TD , that your voice is not going unheard or ignored. Just give us a chance .
ON the tech issue : Gary was unable to get to the track due to a prior commitment with the Quarter Midget. He assured us that he would try but alas couldnt make it. I have no doubt that had we gone ahead with tech without him there would have been even more uproar . While I dont agree , it does appear that a percentage of the members of this club , you included , dont think the CKA staff has the competence or impartiality needed to perform an honest tech. We are obviously still learning about tech and proper fuel teching as evidence by the testing that was done 2 races ago. At Dave's request that test was nullified and rightfully so. USe that as evidence if you like but its a d**ned if ya do d**ned if ya dont deal this last week . I believe the right decision was made due to the concers of the members.
I will be the first one to admitt that when the helmet goes on I can loose my temper and objectivity as well as the next guy , just ask the Sunkels or Dave. What I am asking of all of us ( me included ) is that if you are keeping a score card please discard it , and atleast try too, and come to the next race with a "I will race you the way I want to be raced " attitude and have fun.
